Work with Customer Targets

You can define the targets that you want a specific customer to achieve. These targets are used along with the customer metrics to calculate a percentage that determine if a customer has a good, average, or poor score when calculating the insights.

If you do not enter values for a customer, the values in the Default Target fields on the Customer Insights Setup page are used as the targets.

Set up customer targets

Complete these steps if insights have not been calculated for the customer.

If insights have been calculated for the targets, then follow the steps in Change customer targets with entries.

  1. Choose the icon, enter Customers, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Customers page, open a customer record.

  3. On the Customer Card page, select Customer > Customer Insights Targets.

  4. On the Customer Insights Targets page, populate the following fields:

    These values will override the default target values entered on the Customer Insights Setup page.

    Field Description
    Invoice Sales Target Enter the invoice sales amount the customer should achieve for the month.
    Credit Sales Target Enter the credit sales amount the customer is expected to receive for the month.
    Total Sales Target Enter the total sales amount the customer should achieve for the month.
    Profit Target Enter the profit amount the customer should achieve for the month.
    Profit % Target Enter the profit margin the customer should achieve for the month.
    Discount Target Enter the discount amount the customer is expected to receive for the month.
    Refund Target Enter the refund amount the customer is expected to receive for the month.
    Rebate Target Enter the rebate amount the customer is expected to receive for the month.

Change customer targets with entries

Complete these steps if insights have been calculated for the customer.

The values override the values in the Default Target fields on the Customer Insights Setup page.

If entries do not exist, follow the steps in Set up customer targets.

  1. Choose the icon, enter Customers, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Customers page, open a customer record.

  3. On the Customer Card page, select Customer > Customer Insights Targets.

  4. On the Customer Insights Targets page, select Change Targets.

  5. On the Change Customer Targets page, populate the following fields:

    These values will override the default target values entered on the Customer Insights Setup page.

    Field Description
    Invoice Sales Target Enter the invoice sales amount the customer should achieve for the month.
    Credit Sales Target Enter the credit sales amount the customer is expected to receive for the month.
    Total Sales Target Enter the total sales amount the customer should achieve for the month.
    Profit Target Enter the profit amount the customer should achieve for the month.
    Profit % Target Enter the profit margin the customer should achieve for the month.
    Discount Target Enter the discount amount the customer is expected to receive for the month.
    Refund Target Enter the refund amount the customer is expected to receive for the month.
    Rebate Target Enter the rebate amount the customer is expected to receive for the month.
  6. Select Update Targets & Entries > Start.

    The metric code is updated and enabled, and any existing customer scores are updated with the new target.
