Use Inventory Freshness when Consuming
When a released production order is created, the system will automatically populate the inventory freshness code field of any item on the Prod. Order Component page has a freshness requirement.
Picking for consumption
The Inventory Freshness app provides the capability of picking items with freshness requirements in locations where a pick option is selected for warehouse handling in production scenarios. To conduct a pick in these scenarios, you must ensure that the item meets its freshness requirement. The system will only choose item-lots for which the Due Date (identified in the Prod. Order Component) minus the Production Date does not exceed the corresponding number of inventory freshness days, identified by the inventory freshness code. This could result in a pick not being created even though you have inventory on-hand.
Assign an inventory freshness code to an item
If you want to apply a freshness requirement to a specific component, you must assign an inventory freshness code to the component. The assigned code will cause the system to prevent the component from being picked if the inventory freshness requirement is not met.
Choose the icon, enter Items, and then choose the related link.
Open the Item Card page for the item.
On the Replenishment FastTab, populate the following field:
Field Description Prod. Consumption Inv. Freshness Code Select the code that meets the item’s inventory freshness requirement.
