Use Shelf Life when Shipping

Ship items with a shelf life requirement

When you create a sales order for an item that has shelf life requirement, the system will automatically populate the Shelf Life Code field on the sales order line.

Post sales order or warehouse shipment

To post the sales order, you must select item tracking where the expiration date minus the post calculation date (identified on the Inventory Shelf Life Setup page) exceeds the corresponding number of days in the shelf life Ccode.

The same procedure is followed by the system for locations where warehouse shipments are used.

Picking

If a pick is required, the system will only choose item-lots for which the expiration date minus pick calculation date (identified on the Inventory Shelf Life Setup page) exceeds the corresponding number of days in the shelf life code.

This could result in a pick not being created even though you have inventory on-hand.
