Assign Lot Numbers

On any inbound or outbound transaction for the lot-tracked item, the lot numbers are assigned using the Assign Lot No. action on the Item Tracking Lines page. When this function is run, if a lot algorithm has been assigned to an item, then the algorithm will be used to generate the new lot number.

  • If the lot algorithm contains the Expiration Date (EXPDATE) or Production Date (PRODDATE) component, the system will prompt you to enter these dates. If you do not do this, the algorithm will not be able to calculate the lot number.

  • If the Inventory Freshness app is installed, the production date will be automatically populated based on the value in the Default Output Production Date field on the Item Tracking Code page.
