Set Up Material Staging to Work with Production Batching

If the Production Batching app is installed, you can set up the source of kit production groups to be batches. This means when a kit is created, it will be created for each batch in a production order.

When setting up material staging, complete these steps to use staging with batching.

Prerequisites

• Production Batching app is installed and set up.

Add a batch kit production group

1. When creating the kit production groups, ensure the fields are populated as follows:

   Field	Description
   Prod. Item Kit Group Code	Select the kit group code that represents the item being manufactured in batches.
   Comp. Item Kit Group Code	Select the kit group code that represents the components being grouped for staging by batch.
   Kit Production Group	Select Batch.

   You can add lines that have the same production item and production group but that have different component items.

Set up items

You need to make sure the manufactured and component items are set up to use batching and staging.

Manufactured item

1. Set up the item to use the batch calculation method.

2. When setting up the manufactured item to use staging, ensure the field is populated as follows:

   Field	Description
   Kit Group Code	Select the code that was selected for the Prod. Item Kit Group Code field on the Kit Production Groups for the Batch production group.

Component items

Set up the components that make up the production BOM of the manufactured item being staged in batches.

1. When setting up the component items to use staging, ensure the field is populated as follows:

   Field	Description
   Kit Group Code	Select the code that was selected for the Comp. Item Kit Group Code field on the Kit Production Groups for the Batch production group.
