Set Up Production BOMs for Staging
If an item has a kit group, kit subgroup or bulk unit of measure, then that information is automatically added to the BOM or BOM version when an item is added. However, for an existing production BOM or BOM version, the kit groups, kit subgroups and bulk UOM must be added manually.
Set up a production BOM
When a kit group is added to an item, the group is automatically added to the BOM when the item is added as a component. However, for an existing production BOM, kit groups must be added manually.
Choose the
icon, enter Production BOMs, and then choose the related link.
On the Production BOMs page, open the production BOM you want to set up for staging.
On the Production BOM page, in the Lines FastTab, populate the following fields:
Field Description Kit Group Code Select the kit group code.
Items with the same group will be grouped together in the staging kit.Kit Subgroup Code Select the kit subgroup code.
Items with the same subgroup will be grouped together in the staging kit.Bulk Unit of Measure If applicable, select the bulk unit of measure to use when bulk items are placed in the kit. The kit group code, subgroup code and bulk unit of measure will default in to a production order's manufactured item and its components.
If a production order already exists, you will need to manually add the kit group information to the manufactured item and its components.
Set up a production BOM version
If you are copying an existing BOM or BOM version, the associated kit group code, kit subgroup code and bulk unit of measure will be copied to the new BOM version.
Choose the
icon, enter Production BOMs, then choose the related link.
Open a production BOM.
On the Production BOM page, select the Versions action.
On the Prod. BOM Version list page, select an existing version, or create a new one.
If creating a new BOM version, you need to enter the required version information.
If applicable, on the Production BOM Version page, select the Copy BOM or the Copy BOM version action.
Any kit group codes or bulk UOM will also be copied to the BOM version.
In the Lines FastTab, populate the following fields:
Field Description Kit Group Code Select the kit group code.

Items with the same subgroup will be grouped together in the staging kit.Bulk Unit of Measure If applicable, select the bulk unit of measure to use when bulk items are placed in the kit. Update multiple BOM lines
You can copy an item's kit group code, kit subgroup code and bulk unit of measure values to multiple BOM and BOM version lines.
Choose the
icon, enter Add Kit Parameters to BOM Lines, and then choose the related link.
On the Add Kit Parameters to BOM Lines page, populate the following filters:
Filter Description Item Select the filters to determine which item(s) have information that you want to send to the BOM and BOM version lines.
The Kit Group, Kit Subgroup Code and Bulk Unit of Measure fields must have values in order to populate the applicable BOM and BOM version lines.Production BOM Header Select the filters to narrow down which BOM lines will be updated.
If the filter is left blank, then all BOM lines with the item will be updated.Production BOM Version Select the filters to narrow down which BOM version lines will be updated.
If the filter is left blank, then all BOM version lines with the item will be updated.Select OK.
