Create Quality Inspection Test Failure Actions

Set up the actions that will occur when marking a failed test as complete. The actions can be assigned to a quality inspection test.

  1. Choose the icon, enter Quality Inspection Test Failure Actions, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Quality Inspection Test Failure Actions page, select New.

  3. Populate the following fields:

    Field Description
    Code Enter the code that identifies the test failure action.
    Description Enter a description of the test failure action.
    Test Failure Action Type Select the action that will occur when a test fails and is marked as complete.

    • Show Onscreen Dialog: Displays a message to the user when a failed test is marked as complete.

      The user will need to confirm that the action was completed before being allowed to complete the test.

      A message must be entered in the Onscreen Dialog field when Show Onscreen Dialog is selected.

    • Create User Task: A user task will be created for the defined recipients when a failed test is marked as complete. From the task, the user can go the quality inspection that triggered it.

    If Show Onscreen Dialog was selected for the Test Failure Action Type field, enter the message that will appear to the tester when marking a failed test as complete.

    The message should clearly state the action the tester needs to complete before being allowed to mark the failed test as complete.
  4. If Create User Task was selected for the Test Failure Action Type field, add the recipients to which the task will be assigned.

    1. Select Test User Task Recipients.

    2. On the Quality Inspection Test Failure Action Task page, populate the following fields:

      Field Description
      User Task Recipient

      Select the recipient to which the task will be assigned when a failed test is completed.

      • Tester: The task will be assigned to the user who completed the test.

      • Specific User: The task will be assigned to the user selected in the User Task Recipient Name field.

      User Task Recipient Name If Specific User was selected for the User Task Recipient field, select the user to which the task will be assigned when a failed test is completed.
    3. Close the page.

You can now assign the test failure action codes to the quality inspection tests.
