Set Up Customers to Use Serial Shipping Container Codes

You can assign a specific Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) label to a customer and ship-to address. The SSCC label defined for the ship-to address has priority over other SSCC label setups.

You can also set limitations on the number of items and lot numbers that can be assigned to an SSCC. By setting the SSCC limitation at the customer level, the system controls the assignment of SSCC on the pick lines to ensure that the SSCC does not contain more than the defined number of items or lot numbers. If you want to impose a different limitation for a particular ship-to address, you can define the SSCC limitation at the ship-to address level.

Set up a customer

  1. Choose the icon, enter Customers, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Customers page, open a customer record.

  3. Assign an SSCC label to a customer.

    Require SSCC

Turn the toggle on to require an SSCC when shipping to this customer.

When the toggle is turned on, an SSCC must be entered into the Place lines of the corresponding warehouse pick or inventory pick documents. If an SSCC is not provided, you will not be able to register the warehouse pick document or post the inventory pick document.
  4. Set limitations on the number of unique items and lot numbers that can be grouped in an SSCC.

Set up a ship-to address

You only need to set up a ship-to address if it is different from the customer. If a ship-to address has no labels or limitations defined, then any labels or limitations defined for the customer will be used.

As soon as you define a label or limitation for the ship-to address, the customer label or limitations will be ignored.
