Set Up Serial Shipping Container Codes
You need to set up the parameters that define how the Serial Shipping Container Codes app works.
This page can also be set up from the Set up serial shipping container codes assisted setup.
The serial shipping container code (SSCC) consists of the following:
Application Identifier (00): AI indicates that the data field contains SSCC.
Extension Digit (Open Position No.): Ranges from 0 to 9 and is assigned by the company that constructs the SSCC.
GS1 Company Prefix: Globally unique number issued to your company by the GS1 member organization. It varies in length (7 to 9 digits).
Serial Reference (Sequential Nos.): A number assigned by your company based on a numbering series.
Check Digit: One-digit number used for data integrity.

Choose the
icon, enter Serial Shipping Container Codes Setup, and then choose the related link.
On the Serial Shipping Container Codes page, in the General FastTab, populate the following fields:
Field Description SSCC Shipping Label Report ID Select the report to use when printing the SSCC shipping label. SSCC Barcode Label Report ID Select the report to use when printing the SSCC barcode label. In the Serial Shipping Container Code FastTab, populate the following fields:
Field Description Open Position No. Enter a number from 0 to 9.
An SSCC starts with an open position that is selected by the company.GS1 Company Prefix Enter the GS1 company prefix
You must acquire the 7 to 9-digit GS1 company prefix from a GS1 member organization.Sequential Nos. Select the number series to use in the SSCC to identify the code.
Although GS1 has no specific requirements, a continuous ascending numbering system starting with 1 is recommended. Adjust the length of the select sequence number so that the GS1 company prefix and the sequential number total 16.
