Enter Capacity Cost Factor
When posting from the Output Journal page or the Production Journal page (via a production order), you can enter a capacity cost factor, which is used to calculate the work and machine center direct cost.
- Choose the  icon, enter Output Journals, and then choose the related link. icon, enter Output Journals, and then choose the related link.
- On the Output Journals page, enter the information needed to post the output. 
- For the capacity cost factor, populate the following field: - Field - Description - Capacity Cost Factor - Enter the cost factor for the operation. If a value was entered in the Capacity Cost Factor Caption field on the Variable Capacity Cost Setup page, then this field label will reflect that value.
- Select Home > Post. - The work or machine center direct cost is calculated by multiplying the cost factor by the direct unit cost. - The cost factor is recorded but not used in the cost calculation in the following instances: - If the Cost Incl. Capacity Cost Factor toggle is turned off on the Variable Capacity Cost Setup page. 
- If the Specific Unit Cost toggle is turned on or a value was selected in the Subcontractor No. field on the Work Center Card page. 
 - You can view the details of the work and machine center capacity costs from the Capacity Ledger Entries page.
