Move Inventory in a Package
From the Item Reclassification Journals page, you can move inventory between packages, move inventory to the default package, and move packages between locations and bins.
Move inventory between packages
You can move an item from one package to another package.
Choose the
icon, enter Item Reclassification Journals and then choose the related link.
On the Item Reclassification Journals page, populate the following fields:
Field Description Document No. Enter a document number. Item No. Select the item number you want to move to a new package. Location Code Select the location of the package that has the item you want to move. New Location Code If the new package is in a different location, select the location. Bin Code Select the bin code of the package that has the item you want to move. New Bin Code If the new package is in a different bin, select the bin code. Quantity Enter the amount to move. Select Line > Item Tracking Lines.
On the Item Tracking Lines page, select Home > Select Entries.
Select the entry that has the package with the items you want to move to a new package, and select OK.
On the Item Tracking Lines page, populate the following fields:
Field Description New Package No. Select the package number to which you want to move the inventory or enter a new package number.
If a value was entered in the Package Caption field on the Inventory Setup page, then this field label will reflect that value.Quantity (Base) If applicable, enter the quantity being moved. Close the Item Tracking Lines page.
Select Home > Post.
Select Yes to post the journal lines.
Move inventory to the default package
You can move an item from a package to the default package in order to create loose inventory.
Choose the
icon, enter Item Reclassification Journals and then choose the related link.
On the Item Reclassification Journals page, populate the following fields:
Field Description Document No. Enter a document number. Item No. Select the item number you want to move to the default package. Location Code Select the location of the package that has the item you want to move. New Location Code If the default package is in a different location, select the location. Bin Code Select the bin code of the package that has the item you want to move. New Bin Code If the default package is in a different bin, select the bin code. Quantity Enter the amount to move. Select Line > Item Tracking Lines.
On the Item Tracking Lines page, select Home > Select Entries.
Select the entry that has the package with the items you want to move to a new package, and select OK.
On the Item Tracking Lines page, populate the following fields:
Field Description New Package No. Enter the default package number to which you want to move the inventory
If a value was entered in the Package Caption field on the Inventory Setup page, then this field label will reflect that value.Quantity (Base) If applicable, enter the quantity being moved. Close the Item Tracking Lines page.
Select Home > Post.
Select Yes to post the journal lines.
Move a package to a new location or bin
You can move a package to a new location or bin.
Choose the
icon, enter Item Reclassification Journals and then choose the related link.
On the Item Reclassification Journals page, populate the following fields:
Field Description Document No. Enter a document number. Item No. Select the item number you want to move. Location Code Select the location of the package you want to move. New Location Code If you are moving the package to a new location, select the location. Bin Code Select the bin code of the package that has the item you want to move. New Bin Code If you are moving the package to a new bin, select the bin code. Quantity Enter the amount to move. Select Line > Item Tracking Lines.
On the Item Tracking Lines page, populate the following fields:
Field Description New Package No. Select the package number you are moving.
If the Strict Package Posting toggle is on on the Inventory Setup page, then you need to move the entire contents of the package because strict package posting means the package number can only exist in one location or bin.
If a value was entered in the Package Caption field on the Inventory Setup page, then this field label will reflect that value.Serial No. If applicable, enter a serial number or select Home > Assign Serial No.. Lot No. If applicable, enter a lot number or select Home > Assign Lot No.. Quantity (Base) If applicable, enter the quantity being moved. Close the Item Tracking Lines page.
Select Home > Post.
Select Yes to post the journal lines.
