Place Received Items into Packages

When purchased items arrive at the warehouse, you can receive items into packages or as package-tracked loose inventory.

You can post finished goods to a package or post package-tracked items as loose inventory.

These steps explain how to enter package information when receiving but do not explain the full receiving process.

Receive items into a package from a purchase order

1. Choose the icon, enter Purchase Orders, and then choose the related link.

   These steps can also be performed when receiving items from the Sales Return Order page.

2. On the Purchase Orders page, open the purchase order you want to receive.

3. On the Purchase Order page, in the Lines FastTab, select a package-tracked item.

4. Select Line > Item Tracking Lines.

5. On the Item Tracking Lines page, populate the following field:

   Field	Description
   Package No.	Enter the package number. Select Home > Assign Package No. to generate a new unique package number. Alternatively, select Home > Assign Package and Lot No. to assign a lot number and package number simultaneously. If a value was entered in the Package Caption field on the Inventory Setup page, then this field label will reflect that value.
   Lot No.	If applicable, enter a lot number or select Home > Assign Lot No..
   Serial No.	If applicable, enter a serial number or select Home > Assign Serial No..
   Expiration Date	If applicable, select an expiry date.
   Quantity (Base)	If applicable, enter the quantity being received.

6. Close the Item Tracking Lines page.

7. Select Home > Post.

8. Select Yes to receive the purchase order.

Receive items as package-tracked loose inventory from a purchase order

1. Choose the icon, enter Purchase Orders, and then choose the related link.

   These steps can also be performed when receiving items from the Sales Return Order page.

2. On the Purchase Orders page, open the purchase order you want to receive.

3. On the Purchase Order page, in the Lines FastTab, select a package-tracked item.

4. Select Line > Item Tracking Lines.

5. On the Item Tracking Lines page, populate the following field:

   Field	Description
   Package No.	Enter the default package number. Select Home > Assign Default Package No. to assign the default package number. If a value was entered in the Package Caption field on the Inventory Setup page, then this field label will reflect that value.
   Lot No.	If applicable, enter a lot number or select Home > Assign Lot No..
   Serial No.	If applicable, enter a serial number or select Home > Assign Serial No..
   Expiration Date	If applicable, select an expiry date.
   Quantity (Base)	If applicable, enter the quantity being received.

6. Close the Item Tracking Lines page.

7. Select Home > Post.

8. Select Yes to receive the purchase order.

Receive items into a package from a warehouse receipt

1. Choose the icon, enter Warehouse Receipts, and then choose the related link.

2. On the Warehouse Receipts page, open the warehouse receipt you want to receive.

3. On the Warehouse Receipt page, in the Lines FastTab, select a package-tracked item.

4. Select Line > Item Tracking Lines.

5. On the Item Tracking Lines page, populate the following field:

   Field	Description
   Package No.	Enter the package number. Select Home > Assign Package No. to generate a new unique package number. Alternatively, select Home > Assign Package and Lot No. to assign a lot number and package number simultaneously. If a value was entered in the Package Caption field on the Inventory Setup page, then this field label will reflect that value.

Receive items as package-tracked loose inventory from a warehouse receipt

1. Choose the icon, enter Warehouse Receipts, and then choose the related link.

2. On the Warehouse Receipts page, open the warehouse receipt you want to receive.

3. On the Warehouse Receipt page, in the Lines FastTab, select a package-tracked item.

4. Select Line > Item Tracking Lines.

5. On the Item Tracking Lines page, populate the following field:

   Field	Description
   Package No.	Enter the default package number. Select Home > Assign Default Package No. to assign the default package number. If a value was entered in the Package Caption field on the Inventory Setup page, then this field label will reflect that value.
