Add the Production Date to a Lot Algorithm

If the Inventory Freshness app is installed, the production date can be added to a lot algorithm.

When that lot algorithm is applied to an item produced through a production order, the resulting lot number will automatically include the production date.

  1. Choose the icon, enter Lot Algorithms, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Lot Algorithms page, open a record.

  3. On the Lot Algorithm page, in the Components table, populate the following fields:

    Type

    Select PRODDATE.

    The component can only be used for production output transactions. When assigning a lot number to an outputted item, the production date will be automatically populated based on the value in the Default Output Production Date field on the Item Tracking Code page.
    Date Format

    Select a format for the date.

    You can use multiple algorithm lines for the same date value if you need to combine formats. For example, to create the DDDYY format, add two component lines for the same type, one with a format of DDD and the other a format of YY.
