Update Existing Inventory Quantities

You can adjust quantities in existing inventory by adding or removing items. However, adding new lot numbers cannot be done through the Physical Inventory function; for that, you need to Add New Lots to Inventory.

  1. From the MDC Home screen, select Inventory Calculation.

  2. Select Physical Inventory.

  3. On the Physical Inventory Count screen, enter the values for filtering the search results by populating the following fields:

    Field Description
Bin Code Enter or scan the bin code. A Bin Code is required when counting inventory within a specific bin.
    Item No.

Enter or scan the item number. An Item No. is required when counting inventory for that item.

You need to tab off of the field, press Enter or select Get UoMs to add a list to the UoM field.
UoM Select a unit of measure. If no unit of measure is populated.
Lot No. Enter the lot number of the item you are counting.
Package No. Enter the package number.
  4. Select Search.

Inventory that matches the entered values is listed. The details are listed with the current count of the item. The location code is preset to the warehouse employee's default location.

  5. Populate the following fields as required:

    Field Description
    Lot No.

    Enter the lot number.

This field is only displayed if a bin number was added but a lot number has not been associated with a tracked item.
    Package No.

    Enter the package number.

This field is only displayed if a bin number was added but a package number has not been associated with a tracked item.
Quantity Enter the new quantity for the item record.
  6. Select Post.

    Note

If you post 0 (zero), the item record will be removed from the screen because there is no longer any inventory.

A Postive Adjmt or Negative Adjmt record is posted from the Physical Inventory Journals page in Business Central.
