Use Assisted Setup

The Set up quality inspections assisted setup will set up the Quality Inspection Setup page and will add default data.

  1. Choose the icon, enter Assisted Setup, and then choose the related link.

  2. In the Get started with apps from NIC Systems Inc group, select Set up quality inspections.

    If you are asked if you want to run the assisted setup again, select Yes.

  3. On the Quality Inspection Setup Wizard page, select Next.

  4. Populate the following fields:

    Field Description
    Inspection Nos. Select the number series used to number quality inspections.
    Use Default Inspection No. Series

    Turn the toggle on to create and assign the number series that will be used to number quality inspections.

    The default is Q-INSPECT and starts at QI000001.
  5. Select Next.

  6. Populate the following fields:

    Field Description
    Quality Units of Measure

    Turn the toggle on to import the default quality units of measure.

    The units of measure can then be assigned to the quality inspection tests.
    Quality Inspection Categories

    Turn the toggle on to import the default quality inspection categories.

    The categories can then be assigned to the quality inspection templates.
    Quality Tests

    Turn the toggle on to import the default quality tests.

    You can add manually actions and instructions to the tests. The tests can then be assigned to the quality inspection templates.
    Quality Test Values

    Turn the toggle on to import the default test values. For example, the Yes and No values would be added to the BROKENPALLET test.

    This toggle is only active if the Quality Tests toggle is turned on. Values must be manually added to the COLOR test.
  7. Select Next.

  8. Enter the dates that will populate the Date fields on the Quality Inspection Setup page.

    The Date fields populate the Date to Filter field and Test Date field on the Quality Inspection Template Sources page. The Date to Filter is the date that will be used to filter the source documents when creating inspections and the Test Date is the source document date that will be used to set the test date for a quality inspection.

    Populate the following fields:

    Field Description
    Purchase Header Date Specifies the default value in the Date to Filter field and Test Date field when Purchase Header is selected for the quality inspection template source.
    Purchase Line Date Specifies the default value in the Date to Filter field and Test Date field when Purchase Line is selected for the quality inspection template source.
    Warehouse Receipt Header Date Specifies the default value in the Date to Filter field and Test Date field when Warehouse Receipt Header is selected for the quality inspection template source.
    Sales Header Date Specifies the default value in the Date to Filter field and Test Date field when Sales Header is selected for the quality inspection template source.
    Sales Line Date Specifies the default value in the Date to Filter field and Test Date field when Sales Line is selected for the quality inspection template source.
    Warehouse Shipment Header Date Specifies the default value in the Date to Filter field and Test Date field when Warehouse Shipment Header is selected for the quality inspection template source.
    Prod. Order Line Date Specifies the default value in the Date to Filter field and Test Date field when Production Order Line is selected for the quality inspection template source.
    Prod. Order Routing Line Date Date Specifies the default value in the Date to Filter field and Test Date field when Production Order Routing Line is selected for the quality inspection template source.
    Prod. Order Component Date Specifies the default value in the Date to Filter field and Test Date field when Production Order Component is selected for the quality inspection template source.
  9. Select Next.

  10. Select Finish.
