Use Assisted Setup
The Set up sales commissions assisted setup will set up the Sales Commissions Setup page and will add default data.
Choose the
icon, enter Assisted Setup, and then choose the related link.
In the Get started with apps from NIC Systems Inc group, select Set up sales rebcommissionsates.
If you are asked if you want to run the assisted setup again, select Yes.
On the Sales Commissions Setup Wizard page, select Next.
Populate the following fields, selecting Next as necessary:
Field Description Commission Nos. Select a number series that will be used to assign numbers to commissions. Use Default Commission No. Series Turn the toggle on to create and assign the number series that will be used to number sales commissions.
The default is COMMISSION and starts at COM000001.Agent Nos. Select a number series that will be used to assign numbers to agents. Use Default Agent No. Series Turn the toggle on to create and assign the number series that will be used to number agents.
The default is AGENT and starts at AGT000001.Calculate Sales Cr. Memo Commissions Turn the toggle on to calculate sales credit memos using the same criteria that is used for sales invoices. Alternatively, you can manually post commissions for credits through the commission journal. Sales Document Agents Editable Turn the toggle of if the sales document agents can be modified.
Agents are copied from the customer agents to a sales document agents when defining the sell-to customer on a sales document.Gen. Jnl. Template Name Select the general journal template you want to use for posting commission entries to the general ledger. Gen. Jnl. Batch Name Select the general journal batch you want to use for posting commission entries to the general ledger. Payment Posting Date Source Select the source of the posting date when paying commissions to agents.
This allows you to calculate the commissions in one period and pay them out in another.Commission Entry Post Date (default): Pay the commission based on the date the commission was posted. If this option is selected, commissions need to be posted before the commission period is closed.
Work Date: Pay the commission using the work date. If this option is selected, commissions can be posted after the commission period is closed.
Require Sales Document Fully Paid Turn the toggle on to only pay the commission when the sales document has been fully paid. Require Sales Document Paid By Due Date Turn the toggle on to only pay the commission if the sales document is paid by the due date.
This field is ignored if the Require Sales Document Fully Paid toggle is not turned on.Select Next.
Select Finish.
