Overview

The TEKLYNX SENTINEL Connector app connects Business Central with TEKLYNX SENTINEL, a powerful solution for automated label printing that eliminates manual steps and reduces errors.

Print directly from Dynamics 365 Business Central, with data such as item details, addresses, and more flowing seamlessly through SENTINEL into your label templates. Advanced logic can be applied using TEKLYNX CODESOFT, a label design software, for tasks like calculating totals or adding barcodes. Printing can be triggered from an action or set to run automatically based on specific events.

To use this app, SENTINEL must be licensed and set up.

There are two types of licenses for the TEKLYNX SENTINEL Connector app:

  • Full: Users can do the following:

    • Access all the Lite features
    • Configure the TEKLYNX SENTINEL integration
    • Configure label actions, label printers, and the label printing setup
    • Design labels

  • Lite: Users can do the following:

    • Print labels
    • View print label logs

Key features

  • Print to SENTINEL Actions: A Print to SENTINEL action is added directly to Dynamics 365 Business Central pages, making it easy to send data through TEKLYNX SENTINEL for label printing.

  • Event-Based Printing: Labels can also be triggered automatically during key processes, such as posting production output or completing a purchase order.

  • Customization Support: Extend label printing to custom pages or events when needed (requires Dynamics 365 Business Central code changes).

  • Flexible Label Setup: Define the tables and fields that populate your labels and choose label print quantities: (prompt the user, fixed number, or based on record data).

  • Field Name Export: Generate a file of all field names for quick copy-paste into the label templates.

  • Advanced Label Logic: Apply calculations, rules, and barcode formats through TEKLYNX CODESOFT.

  • Logging & Reprinting: Review print logs to verify results or reprint previously generated labels.

  • Shared Label Templates: Use the same label designs across multiple companies (while setup and actions remain company-specific).

  • Material Staging Integration: Pair with the Material Staging app to print labels for kits and staging orders.
