Transfer Packages Between Locations

You can transfer packages between locations using transfer orders.

  1. Choose the icon, enter Transfer Orders and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Transfer Orders page, select New.

  3. On the Transfer Order page, populate the following fields:

    Field Description
    Transfer-from Select the location that items are being transferred from.
    Transfer-to Select the location that items are being transferred to.
    In-Transit Select the in-transit code for the transfer order, such as a shipping agent.
  4. In the Lines FastTab, populate the following fields:

    Alternatively, if you are using a location where bins are mandatory, select Prepare > Get Bin Content to pull in items to the transfer.

    If the Strict Package Posting toggle is selected on the Inventory Setup page, then you must enter all of the items and quantities in the package. You will not be allowed to transfer a partial package. If you want to move part of the package, you will need to move the items to a new package or a default package.

    Field Description
    Item No. Select the item you want to transfer.
    Quantity Select the amount you are transferring.
  5. Select Line > Item Tracking Lines > Shipment.

  6. On the Item Tracking Lines page, populate the following field:

    Field Description
    Package No. Select the package you want to transfer.
    Serial No. If serial tracked, select the serial number of the item to transfer.
    Lot No. If lot tracked, select the lot number of the item to transfer.
  7. Close the Item Tracking Lines page.

  8. On the Transfer Order page, select Home > Post.

  9. Select Ship and then select OK.

    If the Strict Package Posting toggle is selected on the Inventory Setup page, then you will not be allowed to post a partial package. If you want to move part of the package, you will need to move the items to a new package or a default package.

    The packages are now in transit between the specified locations, according to the specified transfer route. Once the packages have arrived at the destination, you can post the receipt of the transfer in order to complete the transaction.
