Create Agents

Agents are who will receive a commission.

An agent is a representative of a company that conducts or facilitates sales of products and services on behalf of the company. They can be a company employee or a vendor.

Create an agent

  1. Choose the icon, enter Agents, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Agents page, select New.

  3. On the Agent Card page, populate the following fields:

    Field Description
    No. Enter a number or let the system assign a number based on the numbering series defined during setup.
    Source Type Select if the agent is a salesperson/purchaser or vendor.
    Source No.

    Select the vendor or salesperson/purchaser who will receive the commission.

    If a salesperson/purchaser is selected, they must be set up as an employee.
    Agent Commission Group If applicable, select the commission group to which the agent belongs.

Create multiple agents

You can create multiple gents for vendors and salespeople/purchasers at one time.

  1. Choose the icon, enter Create Agents, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Create Agents page, in the Options FastTab, populate the following fields:

    Field Description
    Create Agents For Vendors Turn on the toggle to create agents for vendors with in the defined filters.
    Create Agents For Salespeople/Purchaser Turn on the toggle to create agents for salespeople/purchasers with in the defined filters.
  3. If the Create Agents For Vendors toggle is turned on, in the Filter: Vendor FastTab, populate the following fields as applicable:

    Field Description
    No. Select a vendor or enter a range of vendors for which you want to create agents.
    Vendor Posting Group Select a vendor posting group that contains the vendors for which you want to create agents.
  4. If the Create Agents For Salespeople/Purchaser toggle is turned on, in the Filter: Salesperson/Purchaser FastTab, populate the following field:

    Field Description
    Code

    Select a salesperson/purchaser or enter a range of salespeople/purchasers for which you want to create agents.

    To use a salesperson/purchaser an agent, they must be set up as an employee.
  5. Select OK.

    An agent will be created for each vendor and salesperson/purchaser based on the report filters, if a record does not already exist.

Set up salesperson/purchaser as employee

To use a salesperson/purchaser as an agent, you must make sure that the salesperson/purchaser has been linked to the corresponding employee card.

  1. Choose the icon, enter Employees, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Employees page, select an existing record or create a new employee record for the salesperson/purchaser.

  3. On the Employee Card page, in the Administration FastTab, populate the following field:

    Field Description
    Salespers./Purch. Code Select the salesperson/purchaser who will be set up as an agent for receiving commissions.
  4. In the Payments FastTab, populate the following field:

    Field Description
    Employee Posting Group Select an employee posting group.
