Set Up Sales Commissions

You need to set up the parameters that define how the Sales Commissions app works.

This page can also be set up from the Set up sales commissions assisted setup.

  1. Choose the icon, enter Sales Commissions Setup, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Sales Commissions Setup page, populate the following fields:

    Field Description
    Calculate Sales Cr. Memo Commissions Turn the toggle on to calculate sales credit memos using the same criteria that is used for sales invoices. Alternatively, you can manually post commissions for credits through the commission journal.
    Sales Document Agents Editable

    Turn the toggle on if the agents can be modified from sales documents.

    Agents are copied from the sell-to customer to the sales document.
    Commission Nos. Select a number series that will be used to assign numbers to commissions.
    Agent Nos. Select a number series code that will be used to assign numbers to agents.
    Gen. Jnl. Template Name Select the general journal template you want to use for posting commission entries to the general ledger.
    Gen. Jnl. Batch Name Select the general journal batch you want to use for posting commission entries to the general ledger.
    Payment Posting Date Source

    Select the source of the posting date when paying commissions to agents.

    This allows you to calculate the commissions in one period and pay them out in another.
    • Commission Entry Post Date (default): Pay the commission based on the date the commission was posted. If this option is selected, commissions need to be posted before the commission period is closed.

    • Work Date: Pay the commission using the work date. If this option is selected, commissions can be posted after the commission period is closed.

    Sales Document Is Fully Paid Turn the toggle on to only pay the commission when the sales document has been fully paid.
    Sales Document Paid By Due Date

    Turn the toggle on to only pay the commission if the sales document is paid by the due date.

    This field is ignored if the Sales Document Is Fully Paid toggle is not turned on.
