Set Up Inventory Restrictions

If the assisted setup was not run, you will need to set up how the Inventory Restrictions app will work.

The Inventory Restrictions Setup page is used to set up the rules for sub-lots and expiring inventory.

  1. Choose the icon, enter Inventory Restrictions Setup, and then choose the related link.

  2. Populate the following fields:

    Field Description
Sub-Lot Counter Format Select a number format to append to the end of the existing lot to create a sub-lot. This number will increment by 1 for each additional sub-lot.
Sub-Lot Separator Enter a character to append to the end of the lot number to separate the lot number and the sub-lot counter.
    Default Sub-Lot Rule

Select the default behaviour when starting the sub-lot process.

The value can be changed when creating a sub-lot.

    • Merge: Merge to an existing lot.

    • New sub-lot: Create a new sub-lot number.

    Expiration Warning

Enter the date calculation to alert users that inventory is about to expire.

The value must be a positive date. For example, enter 15D to be alerted when inventory is going to expire within the next 15 days.

You can see the expiring inventory on the Lot No. Information Card page or from the Inventory Restriction Journals page. See View Expiring Inventory for more information.
    Expiration Warning Restriction Code

Select the inventory restriction code that will be applied to inventory lots that are about to expire.

See Add Restrictions to Expiring Inventory.
