Create a Sub-Lot
You can use sub-lots to apply restrictions to part of a lot.
Normally, restrictions apply to the entire lot, serial, or package number. But if the restrictions only apply to part of the inventory, you can create a sub-lot and apply the restrictions to that sub-lot.
You may then remove all restrictions from the sub-lot and merge it with its parent or another sub-lot.
Choose the
icon, enter Inventory Restriction Worksheet, then choose the related link.On the Inventory Restriction Worksheet page, populate the following fields as needed:
Field Description Maintenance Type Select Lot. Item Filter Select an item number or enter a range to filter the lines in the worksheet. Variant Filter Select an item variant or enter a range to filter the lines in the worksheet. Package No. Filter Select a package number or enter a range to filter the lines in the worksheet. Show Restricted Inventory Only If applicable, turn the toggle on to only display inventory items that are restricted from general use. Once you have set the filters, select Calculate Worksheet to load the worksheet lines.
Create a new sub-lot.
Select the line for which you want to create a sub-lot.
Select Line > Reclass Sub-Lot.
On the Reclass Sub-Lot page, populate the following fields:
Select OK.
Field Description Quantity to Sub-Lot Enter the quantity in the sub-lot. Location Select the location of the sub-lot. You can use the Item Inventory by Location FactBox to help identify where the inventory is located.
Bin Select the bin of the sub-lot. Sub-Lot Rule Select New Sub-Lot. Reason Code Select the reason the inventory is being moved to a sub-lot. Include Existing Restrictions Turn the toggle on to copy all of the lot's restrictions to the sub-lot. The sub-lot will be created. The new sub-lot number will have the original lot number, a separator and a counter number, which are defined when setting up Inventory Restrictions.
You can now remove or add restrictions to the parent lot and sub-lot as needed.
You can choose to merge the sub-lot back to the parent or to another sub-lot with the same parent lot. You might do this if you remove restrictions from a sub-lot and want to recombine it back with the parent.
