Inventory Freshness
The production date can be added to a lot algorithm without the Inventory Freshness app but users will be prompted to manually enter the production date when posting output.
If the Inventory Freshness app is installed, when that lot algorithm is applied to an item produced through a production order, the resulting lot number will automatically include the production date based on the value in the Default Output Production Date field on the Item Tracking Code Card page.

Production Batching
If the Production Batching app is installed, the production batch number can be added to a lot algorithm.
When the lot algorithm is applied to an item produced through a production order, the resulting lot number will automatically include the batch number.
In addition to the Lot Algorithm setup steps, you will need to set up production batching.
