Enhancements
Set inspection source dates

You can now set default dates for determining sources when creating inspections and for test dates when entering test results.
The new Date fields on the Quality Inspections Setup page define the dates that flow into the new Date to Filter and Test Date fields on the Quality Inspection Template Sources page. The Date to Filter field specifies the date used to filter source documents when creating batch inspections and the Test Date field is the source document date that will be used to set the test date for a quality inspection.
Default dates can be defined for the following sources:
- Purchase Header
- Purchase Line
- Warehouse Receipt Header
- Prod. Order Line
- Prod. Order Routing Line
- Prod. Order Component
- Sales Header
- Sales Line
- Warehouse Shipment Header
To define the default source dates
- Enter values in the Date fields when setting up quality inspections.
To change the default dates for a template
- Change the values in the Date to Filter and Test Date fields when creating a quality inspection template.

Inspections can now be created for item ledger entries and serial/lot/package numbers.
The following sources were added to the Quality Inspection Template Sources page:
- Item Ledger Entry
- Serial No. Information
- Lot No. Information
- Package No. Information
Inspections cannot be created for these sources using the Batch Create Inspection action on the Quality Inspection Template page.
Inspections can be created for these sources from the Quality Inspection Template page or from the appropriate source page.
To add new sources to template
When creating a template, select one of the following sources:
- Item Ledger Entry
- Serial No. Information
- Lot No. Information
- Package No. Information
To create an inspection for a new source
Select the appropriate source when creating a single inspection from a quality inspection template.
Select the Create Inspections action from one of the following pages when creating a single inspection from a document:
- Item Ledger Entries
- Lot No. Information Card
- Package No. Information Card
- Serial No. Information Card

Updates to inspection statuses

The Quality Inspection pages was split into New Quality Inspection, Active Quality Inspection and Finished Quality Inspection pages so that each status has its own page. The Removed status was removed and the Closed status was renamed to Finished.
Also, you can now update the status for multiple inspections at once from the new Change Quality Inspection Status page.
The following procedures were updated to reflect the changes:

Test descriptions from templates displayed on inspections

The test description from an inspection template is now displayed on a quality inspection, allowing any changes made at the template level to carry over to the inspection.

Delete inspections with any status
ID 11052
You can now delete an inspection with any status. If results are associated with the inspection, you will be asked to confirm the deletion.

New actions added to quality inspector role center

The Quality Inspector role center was updated as follows:
- The Inventory Restriction Journal action was added under Journals
- The Lot No. Information, Serial No. Information, and Package No. Information actions were added under Reference Data.
- The Finished Item Recalls action was added under Registered Documents.
- The Released Item Recalls link was added.
- The Inventory Restriction Journal link was added under Actions.
Note
The actions related to inventory restrictions will only be displayed if the Inventory Restrictions app is installed. The actions related to item recalls will only be displayed if the Item Recalls app is installed.
Work with Inventory Restrictions app

If the Inventory Restrictions app is installed, item restrictions can now be applied to tracked items associated with active or finished quality inspections. The restricted items will be prevented from being used in inbound, outbound, and warehouse processes.
This feature can be used when you want to prevent items undergoing a quality inspection from being used in transactions or restrict items that have failed an inspection.
To use item restrictions with quality inspections
- Add Inventory Restrictions to Quality Inspection Templates
- Add Inventory Restrictions to Quality Inspections
- Apply Restrictions to Quality Inspection Items
